Ticking off another step towards my goal

    Wednesday, September 24th, 2014

In September my workplace had Diversity Week. Every lunchtime we had a “lunch and learn” session. I was so excited, because work gave me the opportunity to be the cross-cultural trainer for the week.

My long term goal is be a cross-cultural trainer. I’ve slowly been working on steps towards this goal. The reason? It is what I am passionate about. I love cross-cultural research and I love training people in new skills and new ideas and seeing their awareness grow and help them in whatever they are doing. Combining these two things just gives me such great joy.
This blog is currently my primary outlet for that passion. If I didn’t have an outlet, I might just explode 🙂
The feedback from the sessions at work was really positive. Because I am so passionate, I sometimes worry that maybe it’s all in my head. Of course it wasn’t 100% perfect and there was a lot I wanted to fit into the 45 minutes everyday, but hearing how others had found the concepts helpful and could see how it applied to different situations in work and life was definitely reassuring that I am taking a step in the right direction.
What steps are you taking towards living your passion? If you’re not taking any, why not? There are definitely ups and downs and plateaus on the way, but here’s to hoping it’s worth it *raises glass.*
