W & V are for WorldView
What is your worldview?🌏Why is it important to understand the impact of worldviews in the workplace?
Worldviews impact many facets of a workplace, including decision making, problem-solving, conflict resolution, employee engagement and ethical standards.
If you are a leader, it’s important to know your own worldview – especially in cross-cultural environments. You can start by asking yourself the BIG questions:
– Why do we exist?
– What does the future look like?
– What is true/truth?
– Who is in charge (e.g. deity or not)?
– What is right and what is wrong?
Your answers will start to give you an idea of how you understand the world. From there you can start to learn about diverse perspectives and begin to unpack the nuances of what it might look like to collaborate across different worldviews in the workplace.
